When I was entering my freshman year of high school, never did I think I would come out a film maker, documentarian, reporter, producer, etc. I thought I would continue in the theater program, go to college for a musical theater degree, and then maybe, if I were lucky enough, become a Broadway actress. I haven't lost that dream; it's still there in the back of my mind. However, I have found a new one: I am currently trying to decide between a film degree, a journalism degree, and a communications degree. All of these skill sets I have learned in the Academy of Multimedia and Communications. Through this academy, I have not only met some of the most important people in my life and truly found a home and family to belong to, but also have learned the skills I need to pursue almost any career I choose. I have learned team work, perseverance, hard work, communication; the list goes on. Everything I have learned and experienced in this Academy I can utilize in any of the three degrees I have mentioned above. The unique and invaluable opportunities the Academy of Multimedia and Communications has provided me will put me ahead of all my future classmates in college, giving me a huge advantage from day one. For all these things, I cannot express how grateful I am to all of my academy teachers for their dedication to teaching me and my peers the art of film making, broadcast journalism, and so much more. Although this is not where I pictured myself to be 4 years ago, I wouldn't change a thing. I am who I am today only because of the people I met those years ago who I am now lucky enough to call my family. So again, thank you. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you and work with you and grow with you. I love you all dearly.
